Rising Hope Foundation
As a truck driver, Leckie saw first hand the "modern day slavery" that was happening around the country. Seeing young girls on a regular basis being driven to truck stops and forced to go around and knock on driver's doors was a real awakening. In January 2013, David and his wife, Vicki, began the process of setting up a non-profit organization to offer restoration and healing to victims of human trafficking. With prayers and support of friends and contributors they work to make a real difference in the lives of young women enslaved by human trafficking.
The Freedom Ranch
Rising Hope is currently building the first Freedom Ranch in Brainerd, MN. The Freedom Ranch will be a safe home where young girls rescued from the abuses of human trafficking can begin the healing process with the help of trained counselors, educators, and health care professionals. The ranch will offer education, life skills training, and equine therapy to young girls ages 12 to 17. One by one we can work together to bring hope and healing to survivors of human trafficking.
